Stephen Curry says he's better than Lebron James

LeBron James Stephen Curry

Taking the Golden State Warriors to the playoffs and breaking into his first All-Star team, Stephen Curry established himself as one of the best guards in the league last season. Last year, Curry led the NBA with 261 3-pointers during the regular season, which was 38 more than any other player and his average of 24 points per game stood as the seventh best in the league. Well his good performance and the praises heaped on him seem to have given his confidence a boost. In an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Curry told viewers that he’s a better offensive player than four-time MVP, LeBron James. here is a video of that interview:

Here are excerpts from the interview:

Patrick: Who’s the better offensive player, you or LeBron?

Curry: A better offensive player, me or LeBron? That’s the first time I’ve ever been asked that question. Me.

Patrick: OK.

Curry: Gotta be, right?

Patrick: I don’t know. I’d assume you would think [that]. You’re a pure shooter. He can score, you can, too, but I think that, you know what, the correct answer is probably that LeBron is a better scorer but I think you’re the better shooter. How’s that?

Curry: Yeah, I don’t know. ‘Cause he obviously demands a lot of attention on the floor, but I like to say I can distribute, get my teammates involved and be a playmaker as well.

By any measure, that’s quite an audacious statement to make. James lead Curry in almost all of the stats like points per game, field goal percentage, true shooting percentage, and offensive win shares. If you look for where Curry stands on top then he was fifth in the NBA with 8.5 assists per game, but James wasn’t far behind with 6.3 per game.Still this is just one stat better while King James still sits at the throne with the rest. Even NBA analyst, Shaq O’Neil believes that James is the best player in the NBA and the reason why Cleveland is going to dominate this season. He believes James is the most ‘unselfish’ superstar and can change teams. This is a lot for Stephen Curry to top if he wants to say he’s better than the KING

Curry later moderated his comments on Twitter.
