Tunisia, Cameroon to Host 2015 AfroBasket for men and women

Tunisia and Cameroon are all set to host the 2015 African Basketball Championship (2015 AfroBasket) for men and Women respectively. FIBA Africa’s Central Board Meeting held in Abidjan, Cote DIvoire decided to grant the hosting rights to Tunisia and Cameroon for this event.

Tunisia will be hosting the continental championship for third time in North Africa while Cameroon will be hosting the continental competition for the first time.

Meanwhile FIBA Africa has placed Angola on standby if Tunisia or Cameroon failed to host or failed to meet up with the hosting demands of any of the championship.

The Central Board also granted of hosting rights to a number of countries for it 2014 championships. Madagascar and Mali will be hosting the 2014 Afrobasket U18 Men and Women respectively.

In the club category, Cote D Ivoire will host the 2014 Africa Champions Cup for Men while Tunisia will be hosting the women version the Africa Champions Cup.
