Navy's Murali Kumar wins Talwalkar Classique National Bodybuilding Championship

Navy’s Murali Kumar, winner of the Talwalkar Classique National Bodybuilding Championship, 2013 along with Former Mr. Universe-102-year-old Manohar Aich, President of Indian Bodybuilders Federation Pradeep Madhok, Secretary Chetan Pathare, the doyen of the Indian fitness industry, Madhukar Talwalkar and host of other dignitaries.

Indian Navy‘s Murali Kumar R dazzled all with his size and form and posed his way to victory in the prestigious Talwalkars Classique National bodybuilding Championship 2013, which concluded in the city late on Wednesday.

Murali Kumar, the current Asian champion also had a distinguished audience to please, among them the 102-year-old Manohar Aich, Premchand Dengra, body building enthusiast and industrialist Yash Birla, the doyen of the Indian fitness industry, Madhukar Talwalkar and host of other dignitaries.

This unique event was organized by Talwalkars Better Value and the Maharashtra Body Building Association, under the aegis of the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF), to herald the 80th Birthday celebrations of Madhukar Talwalkar.

Murali took home the glittering trophy and prize money of Rs 3 lakh. Rajendra M of Tamil Nadu, winner in his weight group at the World Body building Championships in Hungary recently, was adjudged 1st runner up and awarded with Rs. 2 lakhs, while 2nd runner up Bobby Singh of Indian Railways took home Rs. 1 lakh. Sanjeev Jha from Delhi won title of ‘Best Poser’ and awarded with Rs. 50,000. Prize money and medals were awarded to the top 10 body builders. Four body builders from Maharashtra finished among the top 10.

On Thursday, Dr. Ankur Sharma conducted the anti doping test seminar at goregaon sports in the presence of Mr. Madhukar Talwalkar, Vicky Goraksha, Chetan Pathare and Padmashree & Arjuna Awardee Mr. Premchand Degra.
