Nepali body builders leave for Vietnam to participate in the Asian Body Building Championship

A team of Nepali body builders left for Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam to participate in the 47th Asian Body Building Championship. The championship is going to be held from Aug 30 to Sep 1, 2013. Ram Bahadur Dahal, Sanjeev Kumar Shrestha and Rameshwor Maharjan will compete in 60-kg, 65-kg, and above 65-kg categories respectively in the championship. Member of the Nepal Body Building and Fitness Association, Mohan Krishna Shrestha, will accompany the team as manager while International bodybuilding Judge Bijay Lal Kayastha will also travel to Vietnam with the team.

Ram Bahadur Dahal, who has also won the title “Mr. Himalaya” in Nepal had won silver medals in 65-kg category in the South Asian Body Building Championship held in Punjab, and in Hong Kong Body Building Championship held in Hong Kong. Similarly, Sanjeev Kumar Shrestha had also won bronze medal in 70-kg category in the South Asian Body Building competition held in Bhutan.

Athletes from 27 countries of Asia will compete at the 47th Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Ho Chi Minh City from Aug 30 to Sep 1, reports. Around 350 athletes from China, India, Iran, Japan and Thailand among others will battle it out for 36 sets of medals in the men’s and women’s bodybuilding, fitness physique, model physique and athletic physique.
