Sheru Classic to be held Oct 6

New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS): The second edition of the Sheru Classic Professional Bodybuilding Championship is to be held here Oct 6 at the IGI Stadium.

The competition, first held last year in Mumbai, has a total prize money of US $210000.

Among the big names participating in the men’s event is defending champion and current Mr. Olympia Phil Heath. While among the women, Nicole Wilkins will be present to defend her crown too.

However, the contest will have no Indian participation. Varinder Singh Ghuman, who participated last year, will not take part due to a knee injury.

There will be four different categories: men’s professional bodybuilding, women’s professional figure, men’s professional 212 (96 kg) and women’s professional bikini.

The organisers have are also introduced an amateur powerlifting competition with a total prize money of Rs.500,000 with four different categories: lightweight men, lightweight women, open men and open women.

Sheru Classic is Asia’s first and only professional bodybuilding event and has received tier two status by the International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) and will also offer qualification points for Mr Olympia 2013.
