The movie Rocky is going to Broadway. This was the description for the movie used on Broadway.com:

Rocky brings to life the story of struggling small-time Philly boxer, Rocky Balboa, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to go the distance against heavyweight champ Apollo Creed. The new musical is based on the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, which starred co-librettist Sylvester Stallone in the title role.”

I love this movie for many reasons. Here are the top five of those:

1. Some of the scenes were filmed in Philadelphia.

2. Rocky jogging up the art museum steps; the video shot for that scene was amazing.

3. It made me want to watch more boxing. I was really never a boxing fan until I watched the movie.

4. Rocky didn’t have to win to become a winner in the first movie. It was about getting his chance to make a career out of boxing.

5. The theme song composed by Bill Conti, “Gonna Fly Now”. The theme song AWLAYS reminds me of Philadelphia when I hear it.
