India’s top boxer Vijender Singh has been ruled out of next month’s Asian Games in South Korea due to a hand injury he suffered during the Commonwealth games. The 28-year-old boxer expressed his disappointment on missing out on defending his gold medal.

"It's very disappointing. The hand is still not stable. So I have no option but to pull out," said the former world number one.

The hand injury suffered at Glasgow ultimately cost the boxer the final as he had to settle for the silver medal.
