Who will be Gennady Golovkin's opponent for his October fight?, ESPY best fighter award

So what do you think? Is it Golovkin vs. Lemieux in Oct ?

The reigning WBA and IBO middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin recently appeared on the ESPN’s “SportsNation”, he mainly spoke about the Wednesday’s ESPY awards show. GGG said that he was excited and looking forward to the event as he is expecting the Best Fighter award. He also told that he is going to face the winner of the Canelo Alvarez-Miguel Cotto fight, which is going to happen very soon.

But the main thing on the list for Triple G is his October fight against TBA. When his promoter Tom Loeffler was asked whether it would be David Lemieux? He replied, “Could be, HBO is completely on board with Golovkin-Lemieux but it’s up to (Lemieux’s) team, what they think is best for him.”

With Carl Froch retiring from boxing today and WBO 160 champ Andy Lee facing Billy Joe Saunders this September, Golovkin-Lemieux seems right at this point of time. And when Loeffler was asked about Andre Ward, he said “If the fight looks like it’s possible, the weight is something we’ll discuss, Anyway, you can ask HBO, two years ago they showed us a list of possibles, and Ward was on it; we said yes to all of them.”

Tom also said that Golovkin’s chances of winning the ESPY is good because of his fighting style, his international appeal and his personality. “The Golden Boy” is in the race alongside Mayweather, Terence Crawford, and the MMA artists Ronda Rousey and Donald Cerrone for the award.
