Seven year old, Candidate Master Raahil Mullick, bags Silver in Under 10 MSSA Chess

Candidate Master Raahil Mullick, seven year old student of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, clinched the silver in a tie-break with the top-seed at the recently concluded Under-10 age group Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Chess Tournament held at the District Sports Complex, Dharavi, Mumbai from 19-21 November 2014.

Raahil won the hearts of all by beating boys much older than him in the Under-10 age category tournament that saw 210 entries from schools all across the Mumbai district. In a tight finish that saw 3 boys finish on 8 out of 9 points, the result was decided on the Bucholtz tie-break.

Played over nine rounds and two days under the Swiss League system, the tournament was organized by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association under the auspices of the Bombay Chess Association and Maharashtra Chess Association.

Earlier, in August, finished first, procuring a gold, at the 10th Asian Schools Chess Championships 2014 held Taiwan followed by another bronze at the prestigious Indian National U-7 Open Chess Championships held at Kolkata in September 2014.
