There are only a few months to go before the London Chess Classic 2015, which promises to be one of the biggest events in the history of chess. It will mark the conclusion of the Grand Chess Tour which is in its innaugural year.

This year, the classic boasts of the world’s top players competing for not just the classic title but also for the Grand Chess Tour Crown. With Magnus Carlsen finishing eighth in Norway and third in Saint Louis it will be a tough battle for the crown as if he manages to win this title he would be crowned the Grand Chess Tour winner.

However there are many others in his fray with the likes of Veslein Topalov and Kramnik besides numerous others. It will also be a tough path for last edition’s winner Vishy Anand who had a good tournament in Norway but failed to impress in Saint Louis. The world number two will definitely be amongst the favourites to lift the cup this year as well and we know how Anand bounces back from losses.

The Classic will also have other events for aspiring players and a number of school children. There are separate events like the Weekend and Weekday Rated tournaments and the Open tournament. The Super Rapidplay is one of the hot favourites with the players and spectators. For the chess enthusiasts tickets are also available online now on www.londonchessclassic.com.

The event will give a new platform to chess on the global arena and will inspire thousands to take up the game. Youngsters will also be able to watch their superheroes live and nothing could be better than that. The event will also attract huge sponsors to already significant prize money.

The winner is entitled to a huge sum and it boosts one’s professional career as well. Players also get a chance to showcase their talent on a worldwide scale, with their matches being viewed online from across the globe.

All in all the London Chess Classic offers a lot more than just chess. It offers a whole new dimension to chess playing and viewing. It will definitely be one of the tournaments to remember in the history of chess. All eyes are now on December when the classic begins from 4th-13th December 2015.
