The entire country is on an emotional ride as their biggest cricketing star, Sachin Tendulkar is all set to retire from all formats of cricket. Eden Gardens paid tribute by organising his 199th Test match while Mumbai is waiting to capture the imagination of the nation during his 200th and final Test.

However, away from the limelight, 2000 students of a school in the Palakkad district of Kerala paid their tribute to the little master in their own unique way. All of the 2000 students wore “Sachin Tendulkar” masks during the one-hour long assembly.

The school ground of BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary at Alathur turned into a Tendulkar fair as the entire ensemble of students, teachers and non-teaching staff turned up yesterday wearing Sachin masks to offer their respect to the Indian batting legend.

“This is our respect to the great player who had brought laurels to the country,” said school Principal Vijayan V Anand.

The school also hoisted a flag, which carried a sketch of Sachin Tendulkar drawn by the students with a message – ‘we love, we respect, we salute you Sachin’ – written on it.

Three students of the school, Nithil, Akhil and Irshad, also penned a song to celebrate the occasion. The song – ‘Goodbye Master Blaster. In Our deep heart, Sachin You will be with us all day…..’ – was sung, accompanied by orchestra during the school assembly.
