5 famous bowlers who have not yet picked up a five wicket haul in ODI's

There are several quality bowlers who has played the shorter version of the game for a long time, have picked up hundreds of wickets but picking up 5 wickets in a single innings in the ODI's is a difficult feat to achieve. In Test cricket it is easier to take 5 wickets in an innings as it is the longer version of the game. But in one-day internationals, the task is tougher as bowlers only get to bowl 60 balls.

Here is a list of bowlers who are yet to pick up a 5-fer in ODIs


#5 James Faulkner

James Faulkner a brilliant Australian all-rounder who is a wicket taker and is handy with the bat as well, has picked up a total of 70 wickets in 54 games for Australia in one-day internationals and is one of Australia's finest talents at the moment.

The right-handed medium pacer is a highly talented bowler who has not yet taken a five-wicket haul in one-day internationals but the left-handed bowler it is expected of him to do so in time. He has a career-best figure of 4/48 against the West Indies. Faulkner also plays for Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League.

#4 Mohammad Amir

The next player on our list is Mohammad Amir - arguably one of Pakistan's finest bowling talents at the moment. Amir is fast and can swing the ball both ways, which is a nightmare for even the best batsmen. But despite his impressive bowling performances for Pakistan, Amir has not yet reached the feat of a five-wicket haul in one-day internationals.

The left-handed pacer has 3 five wicket hauls in test cricket but none in the ODI's. Amir's best bowling figures in ODI's is 4/28 against Sri Lanka. Amir had his career in ruins due to his involvement in spot fixing but has made a comeback into the Pakistani team and would be desperate to prove himself in the near future.

#3 Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma is a fast, agressive Indian fast bowler who has picked up 115 wickets for India in the ODI's.

Sharma made his ODI debut in 2007 against South Africa and currently plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. His best bowling statistics for India in ODIs was 4/34 spell against Sri Lanka. Sharma has 6 four-wicket hauls but has still not got his first 5-fer in ODIs.

#2 Shane Watson

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson makes it to the list too. He is a prolific and highly talented all rounder who has excelled both in batting and bowling for his country.

The right handed batsman made his debut against South Africa in 2002 and plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. The Australian is a very tricky bowler with a lot of variations and an experienced head. Shane Watson's best bowling figures for Australia in one day internationals is 4/36 against Pakistan.

#1 Ravichandran Ashwin

The next person in the list is a surprise – Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin is a right arm off spinner and has taken 142 wickets for the Indian Cricket team. Ashwin currently plays for Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League.

The high profile spinner is one of the best bowlers in cricket today but hasn’t secured a 5 wicket haul in the ODI's. Ashwin has numerous five-wicket hauls in tests but his best figures in ODI has been a 4 wicket haul against UAE in 2015. Ashwin should soon change this anomaly sonn with the way that he is bowling and it is only a matter of time.
