India tour of Zimbabwe 2016: 5 Zimbabwean players who India should be wary of

Hamilton Masakadza

Zimbabwe will host India in a limited-overs series, which includes 3 One Day Internationals and 3 Twenty20Is. The first match will be played on June 11 at the Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe have announced their squad and have named leg-spinner Graeme Cremer as the captain for both the series. This after they sacked coach Dav Whatmore and took away the captaincy of Hamilton Masakadza.

India too are going in with a young squad but will be led by regular limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

We look at 5 Zimbabwe players who might pose a threat to the young Indian team considering the fact that they will be playing at their home ground.

Hamilton Masakadza

The former skipper is probably their best batsman and has done reasonably well against India in the recent past. He would love to prove a point after being stripped of the captaincy.

He is a power player and can create early pressure by attacking the young Indian bowling attack. Also, he bowls decent medium pace.

Sikandar Raza

Sikandar Raza

The right-hander has emerged as one of the key young players in the Zimbabwe squad. He is a floater in the lineup, but generally bats in the middle order and acts as a finisher.

He has been fairly consistent playing at home, where he averages 35.41.

Apart from this, he is a brilliant fielder and thus adds an extra dimension to his team.

Sean Williams

Sean Williams

The 29-year old left-hander is one of the best talents to come out of Zimbabwe in the last few years. He has slowly become one of the most reliable batsman for the team, especially in the limited overs format.

He was good in the World T20 and displayed his array of strokes. He is also a decent player of spin and plays the sweep and the reverse sweep to great effect.

Also, Williams is a handy slow-left arm bowler and more often than not bowls out his overs during the middle phase of the innings.

Graeme Cremer

The newly appointed skipper has shown enough for people to be convinced of his abilities. The 29- year old is without a doubt the best spin bowler in the country.

Now, with the added responsibility of captaining the side, his growth and progress will be closely monitored.

He is no slouch with the bat either and can muster few important runs at the back end of the innings.

Tendai Chatara

Tendai Chatara

Lean, wiry and lanky, Chatara on his day can be quite effective with his away swingers to the right-handers. He can be mighty effective especially as the pitches and conditions in Zimbabwe suit fast bowling with an early start.

Certainly one to watch out for!
