Australia crush England by 405 runs to level five-match Ashes series 1-1

Danger for England – Johnson is back with his beast streak

Australia thrashed England by winning the match by 405 runs in the second Ashes Test at the Lords Cricket Ground in London. With this massive win, the visitors levelled the five-match Test series by 1-1.

This is the visitors first win England since their win Leeds in 2009 and also their first win in Lord's after the opening Test of Ashes series in 2005.

After coming to bat on the Day four, the declaration was always around the corner as the visitors were kept piling runs over England's chasing limit. Finally just before the tea, skipper Micael Clarke decided to declare their innings on after Aussies quick-fire 254 for 2.

England were bowled out for 103 while chasing a mammoth 509 runs target on the 4th day.

The pitch may be flat for England, but Australia's bowlers made it look like a green top wicket. The sleeping beast, Mitchell Johnson continued his first innings good form made it look terrible for the English batsmen.

Opener Adam Lyth was the first one to go for England as Mitchell Starc's ball found his bat's edge early in innings. Then soon came Johnson and he struck in his very first over. The home team were 62 for 5 when at tea.

After the break, Johnson started the game for Australia by uprooting two wickets in the first over of the session itself. It was sure by then that England are losing big, but the question was by how big margin they'll be losing?

The downslide continued as Stuart Broad and Joe Root lost their wicket in quick succession. Josh Hazlewood did the final job as he clean bowled James Anderson of a full delivery which was bang on target.
