Defamed Indian fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth who has been banned for life from Cricket following his involvement in the IPL spot-fixing scandal has said that he is hoping to stage a comeback.

“My training is going on. I am totally confident that the bad phase of my life will end soon, and I will stage a comeback in the cricket world sooner,” Sreesanth said during his visit to the famous Mahakal Temple in Ujjain.

Sreesanth, who was accompanied by his wife Bhuwaneshwari, also paid a visit to the Kharjana Ganesh temple on Thursday night.

The 31-year old has taken 87 wickets in 27 Test matches and 75 ODI wickets from 53 one-day internationals. He last represented India against England way back in August 2011.

He played his last Twenty20 match for the Rajasthan Royals on the 3rd of March 2013, against the Kings XI Punjab, after which he has been surrounded by the spot-fixing scandal.
