BCCI pays Rahul Dravid remaining fees for U19 and India A coaching role

According to the list of expenses made by the BCCI, former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid has been paid Rs. 1.30 crore of his total Rs.2.61 fee for coaching the Indian Under-19 team and the India A team. The list was released on the official website, where payments exceeding Rs. 25 lakh are revealed.

With this installment, the BCCI has cleared the due payment that had to be given to Dravid, as the first half of the fee was given in March.

Under Dravid's coaching, the U-19 cricket team marched into the finals of the ICC World T20 U-19 cup earlier this year but faced a loss to the West Indies team in the finals. Many youngsters like Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan who played in the team under the Indian legend have been performing impressively in the ongoing IPL.

Dravid was also recently appointed to the ICC cricket committee for the next three years by Test captains, to represent the interests of current players.

The BCCI had also made payment close to Rs. 90 lakh to former Indian batsman and commentator Sunil Gavaskar, as his fee for commentating from January to March this year. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan was also paid around Rs. 26 lakh for his commentary stint in the same period.

Among other payments, the BCCI also completed payments to various state associations for hosting domestic matches and camps. As a part of infrastructure subsidy and service tax claim, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association was paid a total of Rs. 8.67 crore and Kerala Cricket Association was given Rs. 1.62 crore for a similar claim.

The Cricket Association of Punjab, Vidarbha, Karnataka, Orissa, Baroda and Himachal Pradesh have been paid Rs. 37.12 lakh each for conducting the ZCA U-19 boys camps in Mohali, Nagpur, Hubli, Bhubaneshwar, Baroda and Dharamsala.

Rs. 88.43 lakh was paid as reimbursement for hosting Ranji Trophy matches to Delhi and District Cricket Associations and for similar reasons Rs. 82.77 lakh was paid to Mumbai Cricket Association.

Cricket Australia was given the highest foreign payment, with an amount close to Rs. 6 crore being paid to the cricket body as a 10 per cent release amount for IPL 2015. The other foreign payment was made to Spider Cam GMBH (Rs. 98,63,955) for its services in the current season of the IPL.

It is also revealed that the cricket body pays Rs. 2.5 crore as insurance premium to National Insurance Company for event cancellations due to 'an act of terrorism'.
