Brand Kohli overtakes brand Dhoni in TV visibility

In between all the hullabaloo surrounding MS Dhoni‘s stake in a sports management company and him being among the top 20 on the Forbes’s world’s richest players list, Virat Kohli, who has been touted as the next Indian captain, is slowly but surely catching up with the current India skipper in terms of brand value; in the Indian market at least.

According to media tracking agency TAM, Kohli’s presence on television has incredibly shot up by over 200% over the last year thanks to the 13 brands he presently endorses. In turn, the Royal Challengers Bangalore skippers overall earnings from endorsements, have gone up to 40 crore.

The talented right-hander’s annual endorsement fee has now almost doubled from Rs 3 crore per brand last year to Rs 6 crore per brand this year. Apart from giving a tough competition to Dhoni, he also is turning out to be a big rival of Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor in the celebrity endorsement market.

Kohli recently added Nestle Munch and Cinthol to his already long list of deals, and is believed to be closing in on signing for a shampoo, toy and laptop brand in the near future.
