MS Dhoni will be playing a T20 match for the first time in Ranchi, his home city

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, for the first time, will play the upcoming Champions League T20 match in Ranchi in front of a home crowd, NDTV Sports reports.

“The fans in Jharkhand can see Dhoni in T20 matches for the first time in Ranchi,” Manoj Kumar, a JSCA official, said.

The 32-year-old previously played an ODI against England in Ranchi this year but did not play in a T20 match as the city did not feature on his team, Chennai Super Kings‘, schedule this year.

Dhoni will stay in Ranchi throughout the T20 competition. CSK are set to play their first match against Titans on September 22nd.

While in Ranchi, Dhoni visited the Birsa Munda stadium to watch a local football game along with trying out some archery and signing autographs and giving tips to children.
