Chris Gayle's house - A look at the notoriously grand mansion of the Caribbean legend

Christopher Henry Gayle – the name is enough to give nightmares to any opposition captain. The Jamaican burst on to the scene in the year 2000 when he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo.

Gayle had a relatively slow start and his initial years at the international level weren’t that successful, but in the year 2002 he justified his selection by scoring three centuries against India. He went on to become only the third cricketer from West Indies to score more than 1,000 runs in a calendar year, after Sir Vivian Richards and Brian Lara.

Gayle is a one of a kind player, and that extends to his off-field life as well. He has never been shy of revealing his lavish lifestyle; for him, life is short, and he makes sure he enjoys each and every second by living like a king.

In a recent interview, Gayle revealed that his house has a strip club. He went on to add that if you don’t have a strip club in your house then you are not a cricketer.

Everyone has been aware of Gayle’s lifestyle for a while, but his revelation still came as a surprise. He also said life is too short and that he wants everyone who comes in his house to get entertained and feel at home.

Given his larger-than-life lifestyle at present though, it comes as a bit of a shock to learn that his childhood was far from lavish. His father was a policeman and his mother sold nibbles in their locality. Though they were never really ‘poor’, they were far from well-off.

Now, however, Gayle is a party animal through and through. He recently posted pictures on Instagram showing the strip club, swimming pool, and several other fascinating aspects of his house.

He also posted a picture of his bedroom and said, “And this is the 'Hanky Panky' bed with the mirror above to watch whatever view of your choice ... It's feeling a bit dent at the moment lol some guest I presume had a ball in here ... Ain't calling no names #FullJoyLife I can't wait for my friend to fly in for the Party. Anyway, y'all seen enough lol ... I need a so #TripleCentury it is tonight.”

Much like the Australian spinner Shane Warne, Chris Gayle also has a mirror on the ceiling above his bed, which he calls a “hanky panky bed”
