The BBL six-hitter Chris Lynn will lead the Australia A squad in the winter series

The Australian A team for the quadrangular one-day series in Townsville and Mackay has a perfect combination of new Australian talents and experienced players. The team have seven players with international experience, which includes Glenn Maxwell and Chris Lynn. As per reports from cricket.com.au, Chris Lynn will be the captain of the team during the tournament.

The captain of the Australia A squad holds a very good record in the last Big Bash League and was the leading six-hitter in the game. Lynn is currently in the West Indies playing the Caribbean Premier League. Reports said that he will soon return to lead the Australia A team in the 14-match series.

The Australian ODI player of year Glenn Maxwell was dropped from the Australian ODI team for the Sri Lanka tour. Maxwell will emerge as a major draw for the residents of Townsville and Mackay where the tournament will be held. The ODI player of the year was added to the Australia A squad when the let-arm spinner Jon Holland was called up to replace the injured Stephen O’Keefe in the Sri Lankan tour match.

As quoted in the report, the Australian National Team selector Rod Marsh said that the Australia 'A' team had "a near perfect balance between emerging talent and experienced players." He added, “Although we have also selected a squad with an eye towards the future, we have also rewarded the most recent domestic cricket performers and this is a perfect opportunity to showcase their talents against international opposition.”

Marsh also spoke about Chris Lynn’s selection, “Chris has shown in his time with Queensland and the Brisbane Heat that he can lead a team whilst also putting in high-quality performances with the bat and in the field."

Peter Handscomb led the Australian A team to victory in the first of the matches against South Africa A this week. The selector also praised Handscomb for his brilliant captaincy and leadership role which led Australia A’s victory in the longer format.

Indian will also be competing in the ‘A’ series ODI tournament. The squad for the ‘A’ series:
