Corey Anderson spoilt Shahid Afridi’s New Year party, as the left handed New Zealander blitzed his way to the fastest ever One Day International hundred against West Indies at Queenstown. The new world record holder used just 36 balls to reach his century, which included 4 fours and 12 sixes. The 23-year old ended the innings unbeaten, on 131 of just 47 deliveries.

Few thought the record could be broken which was set by the dashing right hander - Shahid Afridi, when he scored his hundred of 37 balls against Sri Lanka in 1996. The Pakistani held the record for the best part of 17 years.

Jesse Ryder kept his team mate in good company, scoring 104 of the best runs in just 51 balls, becoming the sixth player to reach the milestone in record time. The pair butchered the West Indies attack, piling on a mammoth 191 runs for the 3 wicket.

The Black Caps ended the innings posting 283 at a staggering run rate of 13.47, in a reduced 21 over One Day match.
