The St Lucia Zouks had a comfortable win by 9 wickets in their previous game against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The Warriors were put into bat first by the Zouks and were looking at a total above 170 before they were restricted to 159 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Shane Watson bowled brilliantly in the final over, conceding just 1 runs and picking up 2 wickets against the Warriors. The Zouks chased down the total in 16 overs with Johnson Charles and Watson putting 151 runs together for the third wicket partnership.
The Trinbago Knight Riders were defeated by the Jamaica Tallawahs in their previous match by 19 runs. The Tallawahs had set a target of 159 for the Knight Riders with Rovman Powell and Andre Russell scoring 44 runs each.
