Cricket dominates Nepal Sports Awards

Winners of NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards

Cricket dominated the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) Pulsar Sports Awards which was concluded here in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Nepal National Cricket Team skipper Paras Khadka bagged the Male Player of the Year award for a record third time while Nepal National Cricket Team won the team of the Year award for the second successive year. National cricket team coach Pubudu Dassanayake won his second Coach of the Year award and National cricketer Sharad Vesawkar won the Special Award to round off a remarkable day for Nepali cricket in one of the most prestigious sports awards of the country.

Meanwhile, Sunita Bohara (Judo) won the Player of the Year award in the female category. Youth volleyball star Saraswati Chaudhary won the Popular Player of the Year award, youth footballer Bimal Gharti Magar won the Youth Player of the Year award, Yadav Kunwar won the para-athlete award and legendary marathoner (SAG Record holder) Baikuntha Manandhar was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award.

The male and female players of the year and the popular player were each awarded a Pulsar motorcycle while the winners in other categories received NRs 50,000 along with gift hampers.

NSJF, an umbrella organization of the sports journalists in Nepal organizes the annual sports award to honor the outstanding players in the country.
