In what can only be a bizarre error, the main page of The Guardian, one of the world’s largest news websites, featured an advertisement of an online dating site with the face of former New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori.
The dating service for singles, called ‘Soulmates’, uses Vettori under its "search for men" panel.
It is learnt that the website has been asked by Vettori’s agent to take the picture down. Vettori, who is married with three children, has said that he has never had a profile at Soulmates, but wished not to comment further.
