New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) vice-president C.K. Khanna on Tuesday announced that a new CEO and CFO for the association will be named as per Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) guidelines at its next executive meeting.

"On Saturday we had a meeting and it was decided that the CEO would be appointed in the next executive meeting," Khanna said in a hurriedly called presser here, after Justice Mukul Mudgal had on Monday submitted his report on the functioning of the association at the Delhi High Court.

The retired judge had pointed out at various conflicts of interest cases in the DDCA, including that of Khanna.

"CK Khanna is one person whose latent actions, along with his proxy controlled acolytes, have brought down the reputation of DDCA," the report said.

On Tuesday, a faction of DDCA came out to clear their stand and claimed that Mudgal has been 'misguided' by a few individuals within the association.

In his defence about Mudgal's report which states that secretary Anil Khanna, patron Ravi Khanna are his brothers while Joint Secretary Vivek Gupta is his brother in law, Khanna said BCCI's conflict-of-interest clause doesn't say that "two brothers can't work in one association".

No conflict of interest charges against me: Khanna

"I have read all the guidelines of BCCI and I don't have any conflict of interest charges against me. They are all elected members. As far as responsibilities are concerned, Justice Mudgal had not kept me in any committees in the first place," Khanna told reporters.

Sports Committee convenor Vinod Tihara also came in the DDCA vice-president's support.

"Justice Mudgal has made strong observations about Sports Committee. I have no hesitation in stating that he has been misguided by a few individuals. Instead of at least having a meeting with us, he discussed matters with people who had lost elections.

"And if you are talking about conflict of interest of Khanna, then Siddharth Verma, who was a part of Justice Mudgal's core team and his brother Pravesh Verma (BJP MP) are Directors of DDCA. Then that's a conflict also."

Asked if they would challenge Mudgal's report in the Delhi High Court, DDCA president Sneh Bansal said, "No we won't contest his report. We will put our point of view to the court about some of his observations."

"The DDCA has already constituted an ethics committee on the lines of BCCI. The committee shall look into disciplinary complaint and resolve such issues," Khanna further stated.

The DDCA, later in the day, issued a statement stating that it has decided to set up a happiness committee.

"DDCA has decided to form happiness committee. This concept is from corporate governance, adopted in many European countries for the welfare of employee and its members.

"The aim is to keep every member, cricketers, and staff happy and satisfied as one family. All the grievances if any shall be taken by this committee," Khanna, who also is the BCCI vice-president said.
