Dharamsala ODI postponed by 30 minutes

Dharamsala, Jan 26 (IANS): The fifth and final India-England ODI here Sunday will start 30 minutes later than scheduled, the organisers said here Saturday.

The match referee, in consultation with the two teams, has decided to postpone the start of the play from 9 a.m. to 9.30 a.m, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association press secretary Mohit Sood told IANS. The decision was taken after an inspection of the pitch by the two captains and the match referee and keeping in mind the weather conditions, he added.

The stadium, 250 km from state capital Shimla, has a 21,600 capacity, besides a world-class indoor stadium comprising video analysis facilities for both bowlers and players, a club lounge, restaurant, bar and banquet hall.

The weather office in Shimla said Dharamsala saw a low of 5.2 degrees Celsius Saturday, while the day temperature was at 18.6 degrees Celsius, 4.1 degrees above average.

“The minimum and maximum temperatures would remain constant tomorrow (Sunday) as dry air is prevailing over the region,” a Met department official said, adding the sun will rise at 7.17 a.m. and set at 5.52 p.m., with clear skies and a long, bright sunny day.
