India teammates Irfan Pathan and Mohammad Kaif had an entertaining exchange on Twitter recently, after the former got married to a 21-year-old model from Jeddah called Safa Baig. The two cricketers, two very well-liked men in blue of the batch of players who bloomed under Sourav Ganguly, would have brought some smiles out with their chat.
Irfan tweeted a picture of him with his newly-married wife, but he probably was not expecting the reply that he got from Kaif.
Kaif feigned anger that the social media had come between their friendship, but it was Pathan who managed to come back with a reply Kaif would not have been expecting.
The matter was resolved as Kaif suggested that the two players had a reunion with their wives in tow.
The exchange is sure to bring a smile to the faces of those who followed the Indian cricket team and its rising fortunes in the early 2000s, when Kaif and Irfan were two of the youngsters leading India’s charge to the summit of the cricketing globe.
The two youngsters are no more part of the cricketing present, and are making plans for sober get-togethers with families in the twilights of their careers.
