ICC Champions Trophy: Rain delays South Africa-West Indies match

South Africa take on West Indies in a must-win clash.

Rain delayed the 10:00 am local time (0900 GMT) toss and 10:30 am start of the Champions Trophy match between South Africa and the West Indies in Cardiff on Friday.

Winners of the fixture would qualify for the semi-finals out of Group B, along with India who have already reached the last four, as both South Africa and the West Indies have won one and lost one of their two pool fixtures so far.

If no play is possible on Friday, South Africa will make it through to the semi-finals on superior net run-rate.

The minimum number of overs required to declare a result is 20 per side — a format that would appear to favour the West Indies given they are the reigning World Twenty20 champions.
