MS Dhoni’s side will look to consolidate the number one spot

India have become the number one team in the world in the one-day format of the game after England beat Australia by 57 runs at the WACA on Friday.

Australia’s reign at the top of the ICC ODI rankings just lasted two days, having gone to the summit after India’s loss to New Zealand on Wednesday.

The 4-time World Champions might not be at second place for long though. If India fail to beat New Zealand in tomorrow’s ODI at Auckland, Australia will be back on top with India back to second.

If Australia win the final game in the series, then India must win all the remaining matches in the series against New Zealand to stay at the top of the pile.

The entire scenario is explained here.
