Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper Sanju Samson had his house in Thiruvananthapuram robbed by burglars on Friday, and the player’s trophies and souvenirs were few of the stolen items.

According to reports released by the police authorities, the house belonged to Sanju’s father Samson Viswanadh and is located around the coastal town of Vizhinjam. Among the stolen items, Sanju’s school-time trophies of the U19 and Rajasthan Royals player were listed as missing, reports NDTV.

The family have now left the robbed house and are renting a house near Muttathara, which is closer to the city.

A police team had visited Sanju’s residence to collect evidence on Saturday, and revealed that the thieves took out the copper and brass portions from the shields, leaving behind the wooden base.

The thieves could have gained access through the terrace, revealed police officer Mr. Viswanadh.

Sanju, who is representing Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 tournament in Mumbai, was adjudged as the ‘Best Young Player of the Season’ in the Indian Premier League last year.
