India vs England 2016 - Fourth Test, Day 3, Stats: Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay put India ahead

Yet another master class from the bat of Virat Kohli

Centuries by Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli helped India take a 51-run lead at the end of day 3 of the fourth Test between India and England in Mumbai. The hosts were off to a disastrous start as they lost Cheteshwar Pujara in the second ball of the day.

Skipper Kohli joined Vijay in the crease and the duo looked positive right from the word go. It was a visual treat for the fans to watch these bat together. Vijay notched up his eighth Test ton before perishing for 136. India kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Karun Nair, Parthiv Patel, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja fell cheaply.

Amidst this, Kohli held the fort at one end and reached his 15th Test ton. Jayant Yadav, who looked impressive in the last two Tests contributed with the bat and shared an unbeaten 87-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

India ended the day on 451-7 with Kohli and Jayant remain unbeaten on 147 and 30 respectively. For England, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Joe Root picked two wickets each.
