India vs New Zealand: First Test- Social round-up

India kickstarted their long home season with a 197-run win over New Zealand in the first test at Kanpur. Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara put on 100-run partnerships in both the innings and were backed up by the efforts of India’s spin twins, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Vijay and Pujara scored two fifties each in the Test and missed out on a deserved century on both occasions. Ashwin took 10 wickets in the match and crossed the 200 Test wickets in just 37 Tests, the second fastest by any bowler. His fellow spinner Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance which saw him score 92 runs in the match and took 6 wickets.
