Dharamsala, Oct 17 (IANS) It was a sunny Friday morning before the fourth One Day International (ODI) between India and West Indies in this town.

"It's really pleasant here," Abhay Shukla, a cricket fan from Delhi, told IANS here.

"The towering mountains ringed around the stadium make it most beautiful grounds in the world," he added.

The weather office in Shimla said Dharamsala saw a low of 12.6 degrees Celsius on Friday. It said the day's temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees.

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) is sparing no effort to make the ODI a warm and welcoming affair at its new showpiece venue, at an altitude of 4,000 feet above sea level.

"We are fully prepared for the second biggest show in this stadium," HPCA president Anurag Thakur, an MP, told IANS.

HPCA officials said the stadium's popularity soared with the hosting of nine IPL matches and the first ODI between India and England on January 27 last year.

The stadium, 250 km from the state capital Shimla, has a 21,600-seating capacity.
