Amidst gloomy skies, the Indian bowlers gave themselves something to cheer about

When the visitors arrived at Sabina Park on the fourth day, they had to deal with a tropical storm apart from the West Indian batsmen. Having declared with a massive lead of 304 runs, India went in brimming with plenty of expectations and hope.

Things got off a perfect start with senior seam bowler Ishant Sharma providing an early breakthrough to dismiss Rajendra Chandrika. However, the heavens opened up and offered some respite for the hosts while frustrating Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

After keeping everyone on their toes with a stop-start approach, the thunderstorm eased a bit and Mohammed Shami duly utilized the inconsistent bounce on offer to rip the top-order apart. He was ably supported by Amit Mishra who induced an uncharacteristic loose shot from Kraigg Brathwaite.

But, the second and third sessions were washed out completely leaving the West Indies still adrift by 256 runs with six wickets in hand. Let us take a look at the most important statistics from the day’s play.
