Most people, who were in favour of digitising India, decided to change their display pictures using the Indian tri-colour as the foreground. With several notable celebrities and the mass, adoring and ridiculing the move at the same time, Indian cricket Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his intentions very clear.

Dhoni is the only sportsperson, who has decided to take the public ‘Digital India’ plunge. However, celebrities and politicians alike have also joined the bandwagon. Well-known actresses such as Madhuri Dixit and Priyamani have also announced their support towards the cause. Dr Raman Singh, the Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh has also donned the tri-colour. Kerala-based actor Dulquer Salmaan has also supported the cause.

Sundar Pichai explained how Google street view could make the Indian railways much safer and increase its navigational capabilities. Modi was also intrigued by finding Khagaul in Bihar, via Google Campus, which he said could be applied to everyday life. He also urged google employees, to use the tools at their disposal to look for problems such as poverty.

He was also confident about the implementation of technology bringing a qualitative change to daily lives in India. However, that being said, several people have criticised Modi’s stance on the matter, arguing that India has bigger problems to deal with.
