Reports: Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to play in Pakistan?

According to NDTV, PCB chief Shahryar Khan is trying everything he can to resume International cricket in his country and is hoping for neighbours India to help him do so. The career diplomat has said that Indian cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid may come to play an exhibition match in Pakistan in the near future.

Pakistan have been devoid of International cricket since the deadly terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team team bus in March 2009, and was removed as one of the co-hosts of 2011 World Cup due to security concerns in the country.

The 80-year old has been busy visiting fellow Asian countries in a bid to try and convince them to send their teams to Pakistan to play a series over there. He went on to add that Indian spinning great Bishan Singh Bedi had told him that an Indian XI could be sent to play a game in the terror hit country in the future.

"Bedi came to see me and he told me that he can bring an Indian XI for an exhibition game, with retired players like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to Pakistan,” Khan said.

India and Pakistan had signed a Memorandum of Understanding, in April this year to play a total of six series between 2015 and 2023, two of them to be hosted by India.

India are to play two Tests, three one-days and a lone Twenty20 against the arch-rivals in December 2015, with the likely venue being the United Arab Emirates.

Khan also went on to point out that the ICC Chairman, N Srinivasan had spoken positively on the matter.

"I met Srinivasan in Dubai on Sunday and he has said 'come what may I am committed to the six series' and he has his government's approval," he added.
