Well, this good news will definitely provide a lot of relief to the fans who were rather running in a sad mode and feeling disappointed after two consecutive defeats faced by MSD and company in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. Although we do hope that after making a few meaningful changes, the boys will bounce back and will display their true colours in the remaining matches very soon.

The Indian women have registered a 95 runs win over Sri Lanka in the in the third and last One-Day International women’s match at the ACA-VDCA stadium yesterday. With this glorious win, Team India has won the three matches series in an excellent manner.

The Indian women batted first and scored 229 runs in 50 over. Captain Mithali Raj played a superb innings of 104 runs with four boundaries and two huge sixes. The Indian bowlers also played a key role in the defeat of Sri Lanka and allowed them to score just 134 runs in 44 over.

Poonam Yadav with her miraculous bowling spell clinched four wickets and gave away just 13 runs. Also another Indian bowler Rajeshwari took two wickets and had given 16 runs.

Oshadi Ranasinghe became the highest scorer from Sri Lanka with her unbeaten 29 runs whereas Mudushani scored 23 and Ponglapola contributed 20 runs.

It is heartening to see that the women cricket squad has displayed a superb performance in both, batting and bowling. Also their fielding was really up to the mark.

Keep it up girls, we are proud of you. Best Wishes.
