The Kings XI Punjab have had a forgettable Vivo Indian Premier League 2016 until now. After having played five group stage matches, the Mohali-based franchise currently finds itself deserted at the bottom of the league table, six points behind the joint table leaders, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Gujarat Lions.

Since losing their most recent matches at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively, David Miller's men will be looking forward to turn their fortunes around against the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians side at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, later tonight.

However, it seems that the jinx is chasing the Punjab team off the field as well. According to a number of reports, the Kings XI Punjab batsman, Shaun Marsh has been officially warned as well as reprimanded for not complying with the Vivo IPL 2016 Code of Conduct last Saturday, when his team was playing against the Sunrisers at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.

The 32-year-old Western Australian was warned for a Level 1 offence under Article 2.1.8 which covers ‘abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match.’

Having said that, fellow Australian and Marsh's Kings XI Punjab team member, Glenn Maxwell was penalised for breaking the Vivo Indian Premier League Code of Conduct during the same match.

According to a statement that has been released by the IPL organising committee, earlier today, “Maxwell admitted to the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.8) of abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match and accepted the sanction of a fine of 25 percent of his match fee.”

Shaun Marsh's Indian Premier League records

Shaun Marsh, without a shadow of a doubt, is one of the star players of the Indian Premier League.

The left-handed Australian batsman has featured in 60 Indian Premier League matches. He has scored a total of 2,167 runs in the coveted tournament- all seasons combined- at an extremely impressive average of 41.67. The 6 feet 1-inch tall Aussie batsman can also boast of a phenomenal strike rate of 132.54.

Shaun Marsh has also scored a century along with 18 other half-centuries throughout the nine editions of the Indian Premier League, with 115 against the Rajasthan Royals, being his best score in the tournament.
