Delhi Daredevils played Gujarat Lions today. Both the teams had won their previous games. We were in for a treat tonight. A win would potentially launch one of the teams to the top of the table. Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Zaheer Khan said, "We decided to just go with the trend". Very honest as to why he decided to bowl first.”

Gujarat Lions got off to a tremendous start. They reached fifty runs in less than four overs. Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum dominated DD’s bowlers. Both of these players scored half-centuries. Gujarat Lions had a long batting line-up. They were favourites to cross 200 runs today.
That was not the case. GL’s captain Suresh Raina could not continue the same momentum and was dismissed early. None really followed. Gujarat Lions managed to score 172 runs.
Delhi had a big ask today. They were relatively pleased that 200 was out of the cards today. Well, 172 is no small target. They would want their man-in-form Quinton de Kock to come in good today.
Sanju Samson could not replicate his previous match's form, he departed early. Quinton de Kock was dismissed early as well. After those early wickets, Duminy took charge and held the innings together. Chris Morris was brilliant. He went all guns blazing against the opposition. He instigated the change and brought Delhi back into the fight.
Valiant performance by Chris Morris was not enough to take Delhi Daredevils home. They lost the match by one run.
Virat Kohli holds the Orange Cap with 367 runs at an average of 91.75.

Amit Mishra had been excellent for Delhi. He was the key man today as well. They even had in Imran Tahir but was no match to McCullum and Smith. DD was humbled by GL in the first ten overs. Delhi pulled it back from there. Imran Tahir was excellent and picked up three wickets in his spell of four overs. He even picked up the crucial wicket of Dwayne Smith. Shahbaz Nadeem had a decent game as well. Amit Mishra has the best bowling figures of IPL 2016.
GL’s Dhawal Kulkarni struck early and removed Sanju Samson. He picked up three wickets in his first two overs. Dwayne Bravo picked up the key wicket of Duminy.
Mitchell McCleanaghan leads the chart as the leading wicket-taker with an economy of 8.11.
