Rising Pune Supergiants played Delhi Daredevils on 17 May 2016. Rising Pune Supergiants is out of the playoff contention. After a below-par tournament, Pune wanted to finish IPL 2016 on a high. While Delhi Daredevils had a lot to play for. It was a crucial game for a win would launch Delhi into the top four.
Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and chose to field first.
Zaheer Khan said, "Would have batted first. Have asked the guys to be flexible. Shreyas Iyer, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Shami return."
MS Dhoni said, "Looks a good surface, also a bit of rain forecast for later on in the day. Will have to be more consistent. M Ashwin is replaced by Deepak Chahar."

Delhi Daredevils was off to a wobbly start. DD lost two wickets early. The situation never improved for Delhi. None took command of the situation. Too many dot balls were the problem.
Pune had an easy target. RPS had to chase down only 122 runs. Pune started great. Rahane was consistent yet again. Chris Morris removed Khawaja but that didn’t make any difference. Geroge Bailey backed Rahane well.
There was drama at Vishakhapatnam. It rained and the match was called off. RPS won the match by 19 runs (D/L).
Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer. Quinton de Kock stays at number eight. Rahane moves up to the fourth spot.

Ashok Dinda removed dangerous Quinton de Kock early. He even bowled a wicket maiden. Zampa had a great game too. He picked up two wickets.
