IPL 2016: Highest Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Mumbai Indians (MI)

Kredy
Mitchell McClenaghan leads the wicket-takers chart

Royal Challengers Bangalore played Mumbai Indians on 11 May 2016 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. It was a crucial game for both RCB and MI. Both teams needed a win to push into the top-four. A win in this match could set a picture-perfect finish to the league stage for one of these two teams.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to field first.

Virat Kohli said, "Two games before, we were nowhere and now we are among the top five-six teams. We have the right kind of momentum coming into today. We just have to put the runs on the board now. The surface looks pretty dry, similar to the game against Pune. Whichever team bats well and whichever team can restrict the other will do well."

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI:

Chris Gayle, Lokesh Rahul(WK), Virat Kohli(C), AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Sachin Baby, Stuart Binny, Sreenath Aravind, Chris Jordan, Varun Aaron, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Mumbai Indians Playing XI:

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost wickets early. Both their openers walked back in the first four overs. Chris Gayle failed to fire yet again. AB de Villiers came in next but couldn’t stay long.

Lokesh Rahul held his ground and scored a well-paced fifty. Sachin baby played a brilliant knock and propelled the score to 151.

Mumbai Indians lost Parthiv Patel early. Rohit Sharma didn’t last long either. To save Mumbai Indians, Rayudu played the anchor role once again.

In the end, it was Kieron Pollard and Jos Buttler. Pollard swung the momentum in MI’s favour. These two players finished the game in style.

Virat Kohli still leads the run-scorers chart. Lokesh Rahul and Ambati Rayudu enter the top-10 chart.

Mitchell McClenaghan removed Virat Kohli with his first ball. Not only that, MI dismissed RCB’s key batsmen early. A terrific start for Mumbai Indians.

Overall, Krunal Pandya had a great game. He took the important wicket of AB de Villiers. Southee was good with the ball as well. It wasn’t Pollard’s day with the ball, he was smashed for 22 runs in a single over.

Binny bowled an excellent first over. Chahal and Aravind were brilliant as well. RCb started well with the ball but couldn’t make that last. 151 runs were never sufficient for RCB’s bowling attack.

We have a change in the top wicket-takers chart. Mitchell McClenagahan takes the Purple Cap from Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

RCB’s fielding was magnificent in this match. We have seen some great catches, thanks to Stuart Binny and AB de Villiers.

RCB’s AB de Villiers has the most catches in the tournament so far. While SRH’s Naman Ojha dismissed most players as a wicketkeeper.
