Kings XI Punjab played Mumbai Indians today. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and chose to field first. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Punjab won the toss for the first time in IPL 9, David Miller was happy about that. David Miller said, "It's the first time that I have won the toss. We have made two changes. Mitchell Johnson and Pradeep Sahu come in."It's a high-scoring ground, the outfield is fast here and the boundaries are also big. So, we have to bat well and put up a good total and then try to defend it." Rohit Sharma added.

Rohit Sharma could not get going and was out for a nought. He stays at number five in the leading run-scorers chart. Parthiv Patel scored his first half-century of IPL 9. He was excellent today and scored 81 runs in just 58 balls. While, Ambati Rayudu had a good game and pushed himself into the highest run-scorers chart. Jos Buttler played a brilliant cameo at the end.

Glenn Maxwell scored a half-century. KXIP fans would be pleased the Maxwell is back amongst the runs. Shaun Marsh had a good game too.

RCB’s Virat Kohli still stands tall as the leading run-scorer in IPL 2016. He tops the chart with 367 runs with an average of 91.75. David Warner follows him with 294 runs.

Sandeep Sharma picked up the early wicket today. Tremendous start for Kings XI Punjab. He pushed himself to the eight spot on the highest wicket-takers chart. Mitchell Johnson made a comeback to the side. He didn’t have a great comeback, though. Sandeep Sharma was the standout bowler for Kings XI Punjab. Mohit Sharma entered the highest wicket-takers chart. He took three wickets today, two of them came in the last over.

Jasprit Bumrah fired himself to second place in the leading wicket-takers chart with three wickets in today’s game. Tim Southee had a good game. He picked up two key wickets today.

Mitchell McClenaghan still leads the top wicket-takers chart with eleven wickets.
