In the previous Indian Premier League (IPL) season's fixture between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers made merry with an unbeaten 200-plus stand at the Wankhede Stadium. However, the match did not end in RCB's favour this time around as the Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 171 set by RCB.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers looked liked they would help their side post a massive total at one point of the time in the innings. However, the Mumbai bowlers pulled things back brilliantly to restrict the visitors to a score of under 200. Krunal Pandya swung the pendulum Mumbai's way as he dismissed both Kohli and ABD in one over.

In reply, Mumbai captain Rohit scored his second fifty of the IPL to set the right foundation for the chase. Although Rohit was dismissed, Jos Buttler and Kieron Pollard scored two quickfire knocks to finish the game off and reach the target with two overs left.

Here are the major stats from the game:

1 – This was the first time in the last five T20 innings that Virat Kohli has missed out on scoring a half-century.

2 – Only Virat Kohli and Harbhajan Singh are the two players to have featured for the same team in all nine seasons of the IPL.

4 – Krunal Pandya became the fourth bowler to dismiss both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the same over in the IPL. Jacques Kallis, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Ashish Nehra were the other three bowlers who achieved the same feat.

8 – Rohit Sharma has now been named man-of-the-match most times in the IPL. He is level on 8 along with Sachin Tendulkar and Kieron Pollard.

36 – Jos Buttler has been dismissed 36 times in for a score of under 30 while chasing in T20s. Only two of his 14 fifties came during a chase.

42 – Rohit Sharma has the highest 50-plus scores in T20s by an Indian batsman. Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have 41 each to their names.

50 – AB de Villiers has 50 catches in the IPL to his name. He is fifth in the list of players with most catches in the IPL.

67 – Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 67 runs in the last six overs of the bowling innings.

69 – Jos Buttler has scored 69 runs at a strike rate of 192 while he has scored only 27 runs at a strike rate of 79.

76 – Mumbai Indians’ third wicket partnership between Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma was their highest for the third wicket this IPL.

146 – The number of runs scored by Rohit Sharma while batting second in the IPL this season. While batting first, he has scored only 19 runs in three innings.

150 – Rohit Sharma crossed the landmark of hitting 150 sixes in the IPL. He is only the third player to reach the milestone, after Chris Gayle (230) and Suresh Raina (153).

200 – Harbhajan Singh played his 200th T20 match.

2380 – Rohit Sharma is now the highest run-scorer for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Rohit overtook Sachin Tendulkar, who had scored 2334 runs.
