One of the pleasant sights in the 2016 IPL has been the delightful partnerships between Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The most fascinating thing about this combination is the mutual respect that the two champions share for each other.

Speaking to India Today, Kohli opened up about his game and credited an uncluttered mindset as the reason for his jaw-dropping consistency. The Delhi dasher also thanked the spectators for their continued support and affection.

Kohli revealed, “I have understood that balance. In that process, I have learnt to do what needs to be done at whatever stage of the game. I don't try to emulate or outplay anyone. I am happy with where my game is right now. Am very confident in my own head about what I need to do. I have come to terms with my strengths and limitations.”

Hailed by the cricketing fraternity for his impressive work-ethic, the 27-year old enthused, “See, it's a very basic thing. You need to find your game. Need to be confident about your game. There has been no one way of playing cricket ever and being successful at it. It's all about how convinced you are in your head about how you can play and succeed.”

Undoubtedly, the most popular cricketer in the country, Kohli cuts across the different states and unites people with his batting. He cherished the support that he had been receiving at the various venues in India.

The right-hander affirmed, “That's in fact been one pleasant change in this IPL. People have cheered me everywhere as they did during the World Cup. It makes me feel that if you work hard and are not very desperate to change people's perception about you, than they come to terms with the fact that you are doing what you are doing very honestly.”

He added, “They keep the club culture and the franchise bit out of the equation and support who you are as a person. It's been very pleasant for me that wherever I have gone, people have wanted me to do well and responded with lots of love, even when they are the opposition fans.”

Kohli has no reason to be surprised with the massive fan following as he is currently India’s best player across all formats and is on his way to reach even greater heights.
