The ever-witty Virender Sehwag is back again with a hilarious tweet at the Kolkata Knight Riders, this time. He tweeted a picture after last night’s Eliminator, of a ‘holder’ and a ‘peacock’, captioning it as ‘KKR bowling attack’. It was an intended pun at Jason Holder and Morne Morkel, who picked up two wickets each, along with Kuldeep Yadav’s three-wicket haul, to restrict Sunrisers to 162 for eight, in their 20 overs.

Sehwag, who is an avid Twitter user, always comes up with pretty interesting tweets about cricket, world news, or just anything in the blue. His recent tweet in praise of the Indian batting star, Virat Kohli, gained a lot of attention, and this is what he had said,

KKR knocked out of the IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders were one the favorite contenders for the Indian Premier League title this year, but their dreams were shattered when they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 22 runs, in last night’s Eliminator.

Their batting collapse, with no note-worthy partnerships, eventually led to their loss. Manish Pandey was the highest run-scorer for them, with 36 from 28, but it just wasn’t enough to get his team through to the finals. Gambhir was visibly disappointed at the post-match presentation,

“Someone into 60s or 70s and we would have won. Missed Russell in the last couple of overs. He can hit 140s too. Difficult to replace him (Russell) but we tried to get the best combination. We should have got 160 on this wicket.

“They did well to restrict the opposition but batters weren't upto the expectations. In this format, you have to play well and the individuals can take the game away,” said the Skipper.

The KKR bowling line-up was one of the best in the IPL, until Andre Russell was out of the tournament with an injury, after their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His absence was a huge blow for KKR; as he picked up 15 wickets in 12 matches, with best bowling figures of 4/20.

KKR are now out of the competition, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad face Gujarat Lions on 27 May in Delhi, for the second Qualifier. The winner of which, will face the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Finals on 29 May, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
