No team in IPL has defeated Chennai Super Kings more than Mumbai Indians. The two teams have clashed 12 times so far in IPL with the Mumbai Indians emerging victorious on seven of those occasions.

Earlier in the season, when these two teams met at Chepauk, MI posted a decent target of 148 runs on the board and then limited the hosts to 139 runs, winning by nine runs.

Mumbai have an imposing head-to-head record against the Super Kings at the Wankhede in the three matches played there – Mumbai have won all their three games.

Lasith Malinga is two wickets short of reaching a landmark 200 wickets in T20 cricket. Only two more bowlers, Alfonso Thomas (216 wickets) and Dirk Nannes (214 wickets) have achieved this feat.

Chennai Super Kings seem to have mastered the art of preserving wickets while scoring quick runs; they have the best runs per wicket ratio this season – 33.36.

What’s next in store for teams: Mumbai Indians remain at home to host the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on May 7.

Meanwhile Chennai Super Kings will head to Hyderabad to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad the following day.
