As IPL reaches its final stages, the race for play-offs has just got better. With 7 matches remaining, as many as 6 teams are in the fray for three remaining spots. Let us look at what teams should do and/or hope to seal their berth in the next stage.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Only miracle can prevent KKR from going through.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

a) Win its final match OR

b) Hope i) Both RR and RCB lose one of their matches OR

ii) One of RR and RCB AND one of CSK and KXIP lose one of their matches

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

a) Win its final match AND hope miracles don’t happen OR

b) Hope RR, RCB and KXIP all lose one of their matches AND it finishes with higher NRR than RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

a) Win both its matches AND hope

i) One of MI & CSK loses its final match OR

ii) It finishes with better NRR than CSK OR

b) Win one match AND hope miracles happen.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

a) Win both its matches AND hope

i) RCB loses one of its matches OR

ii) KXIP beats CSK and DD beats KXIP.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

a) Win both its matches AND hope

i) RCB loses one of its matches OR

ii) DC beats RR and RR beats MI
