Legendary Indian cricketer, Rahul Dravid's son Samit scored a century at the Loyala cricket grounds, during an U-14 school/club tournament in Bengaluru. A quick-fire 125 helped his club side, Bangalore United defeat Frank Anthony Public School by 246 runs in the fifth edition of the Tiger Cup. The tournament aims at creating a structure for junior cricketers to transition to higher age categories.

The 30 over game saw Pratyush G top score for Bangalore United with 143, setting up a 213 run partnership with junior Dravid for the fourth wicket. Frank Anthony Public school were bowled out for a lowly score of 80, while chasing United's 326. The tournament features 16 teams across two age categories (U-12, U-14). Samit, who won the 'best batsmen' award in the U-12 Gopalan cricket Challenge last year has been in scintillating form. Playing for his school, Mallya Aditi International, he scored three half centuries. All three scores came in match winning causes, including an unbeaten 77 in the final.

During the group stages, he notched up another unbeaten 93 against DelhI Public School (Whitefield), helping his school win by 62 runs. However, his ‘Dravidesque’ performance came in the next round, where he saw off some tricky bouncers, helping build a 114 run fifth wicket partnership in a relatively bowling friendly track. The most surprising fact is that Samit is performing against players two years elder to him.

Rahul Dravid was unable to attend the match, as he is currently the mentor Indian Premier League outfit, Delhi Daredevils.
