Laundry, MS Dhoni's solution of cleaning up the IPL

MS Dhoni tried to duck the difficult question with some ‘humour’

Time and again, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has remained silent and evaded questions about the controversies that are surrounding the Indian Premier League(IPL).

It has caused irritation among many fans and former cricketers alike that the Indian captain did not respond to queries on the betting and spot fixing scandal surrounding the IPL. Dhoni has finally responded to one such query but it is not a response that most would have wanted to hear.

“We will try the laundry, that’s good, will keep us clean,” Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings – the team at the centre of the furore, was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo when asked about the measures that needed to be taken to keep the T20 League clean and free of corruption.

Dhoni has been at the centre of the controversy with the 32-year old being accused of lying in an attempt to shield betting accused and CSK’s former Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan during his deposition to the Justice Mukul Mudgal led committee.

Dhoni has also slapped a Rs.100 Cr law suit on a TV news channel which insinuated that Dhoni was involved in betting and spot fixing himself.

The Indian skipper arrived in the UAE on Monday for the first leg of the seventh edition of the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings play their first match in IPL 7 against the Kings XI Punjab on 18th April at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
