7:40 PM IST- So, the cards are set. The playing XIs are in. Delhi will bat first. Not much to do now but to get your snacks, drinks, merchandise and strap yourself in. We are in for a ride tonight from the Eden Gardens.

DD Playing XI: De Kock, Agarwal, Iyer, Karun, Samson, Brathwaite, Negi, Morris, Mishra, Zaheer, Coulter-Nile.

KKR Playing XI: Gambhir, Uthappa, Pandey, Munro, SK Yadav, Pathan, Russell, Chawla, Hastings, Hogg, U Yadav.

All the attention is on 4.2 Crore man and World Cup winner, Carlos Brathwaite! Certainly hope that he can live up to the hype after his 4 6s in the final over of the T20 WC.

Zaheer - "Excited to be back. Looking forward to my first game as captain. I would have batted first if I won the toss, the ball should come on to the bat".

Gambhir - "Kallis was an automatic choice as coach as he's been around for a while. I hope there will be plenty of runs on this pitch". Gautam Gambhir wins the toss and elects to bowl first for the KKR.

7:30 PM- Time for the toss with Danny Morrison! He's with the captains Zaheer Khan (DD) & Gambhir (KKR)
Piyush Chawla of the KKR: "Looking forward to the first game of the tournament. We have a balanced squad and itching to go in the first game. We want to follow our basics and do what we do best. As a team, the DD are new but they have plenty of IPL experience and we need to do well to win"
For KKR, they will rely on their knowledge of the ground and we could expect a slow turner as we have seen over the years at the Eden Gardens. They will miss their ace spinner Sunil Narine but have plenty of strength in the spin department to cover for the loss.
7:25 PM - 35 minutes before we get underway at the Eden Gardens. Especially looking forward to see if the Paddy Upton - Rahul Dravid think tank for the Daredevils come up with a few surprises in their team selection. Young Rishabh Pant has been in great form recently, impressing everyone in the U19 World Cup.
